Susana (aka Susan) Mayer is a board-certified sexologist with the American College of Sexologists (ACS). She holds a Doctorate in Human Sexuality and a Master’s in Sexual Public Health.

Dr. Mayer specializes in libido (human sexual desire/drive), arousal, and the enhancement of intimacy and joy through the creation of personal eroticism. Her Ageless Sex philosophy emphasizes the physical expression of intimacy while addressing emotional needs, aging bodies, and health challenges—ensuring that all individuals in a relationship have their needs met.

Susana is widely recognized as a trusted source for information about sexuality. Her expertise has made her a frequent contributor to NPR radio, podcasts, and various online and print publications.

In 2008, Susana founded and hosted The Erotic Literary Salon, a monthly gathering celebrated as a verbal sanctuary for sexual expression. The Salon aimed to combat sexual shame, normalize conversations about sex, and bring erotica into the mainstream. Over its 12-year history, the Salon collaborated on notable events, including a 2017 partnership with the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Now, Susana is transitioning The Erotic Literary Salon to a virtual format on Substack, creating a digital space that continues to provide a safe, uncensored platform for sharing and exploring intimate topics.
