Submission Guidelines

Here’s how to prepare and submit your piece:

Monthly prompts are shared in the newsletter to inspire your creativity, but you’re also welcome to submit entirely original works.

1. Length: Submissions should not exceed 1,000 words. If longer, break it up into more than one piece and it will be posted in installments. Each new installment must include a brief backstory to remind the reader of the earlier piece.
2. Spacing and Formatting:
   1. Use 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font.
   1. Double-space your text for readability.
3. Author Name: Include your name or a pseudonym (if preferred) in the email accompanying your submission.
4. Backstory: Provide a brief backstory describing what inspired your work.
5. How to Send:
   1. Attach your submission as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or a PDF.
   1. Alternatively, paste your submission into the body of the email if attachments are not an option.
6. Where to Send: Submit your work via email to susanamayer3@gmail.com with the subject line: “[Your Name or Pseudonym] – Submission for ELS.”
